After moving to the area from Phoenix, I went to 5-6 different stylists, but I never returned to them because I was unhappy with the end result. James is the first stylist I have repeatedly been to, because I’m thrilled with my results each time. He’s a true professional, thoughtful, really takes his time to understand your hair, how you typically like to style it, what suits your facial structure and how best to cut and style it. He’s a true artist in every sense and I highly recommend him!

I have never had a stylist spend as much time asking relevant question about my hair and style. His attention to detail is top notch. I love how my hair turned out! I LOVE HOW MY HAIR CAME OUT!!! Thank you so much James!! I really appreciate that you took the time to meet in advance and get the right product match for my hair (even though I wanted to jump straight into a color appt). NO ONE has ever done that let alone actually analyze my hair and explain to me how to keep it in great shape. Anyhow, I get it now and I’m so glad I listened to you by having the consult first!! As far as a review, I am convinced that you are the best stylist in Portland! You are awesome with color and super precise with cutting. I was looking for a stylist to execute my balayage vision and booked a consultation first. He took the time to figure out my exact vision and what color would next suit me. James actually pointed me in the direction of highlights inspired the balayage technique since I have darker hair and I love the result! It’s super natural looking but the blonde color really pops. I will definitely be recommending him if someone mentioned they want to get their hair done.
